Belfast Man Convicted of Drug Charges and Property Seized and Forfeited, and to be Auctioned

Lebanon, VA — On September 24, 2015, Ronald Woodard, a 54 year-old man from Belfast, Virginia, was convicted of  Conspiracy to Distribute Schedule II controlled Substances in the Russell County Circuit Court.  Woodard was sentenced to six (6) years, with four (4) years, two (2) months suspended, and two (2) years probation.

Lebanon Man Convicted of 16 Drug Charges and Property Seized and Forfeited

Lebanon, VA — On November 14, 2015, Billy Kegley, Jr., a 58 year-old man from Lebanon, Virginia, was convicted of 16 counts of Conspiracy to Distribute and Distribution of  controlled Substances in the Russell County Circuit Court.  Kegley was sentenced to a total of twenty (20) years, with eleven (11) years suspended, and three (3) years probation upon his release.

Lebanon Man Convicted and Sentenced on 43 Counts of Possessing Child Pornography

Lebanon, VA — On September 17, 2015, Terry Theodore Cantrell, a 57 year-old man from Lebanon, Virginia, pled guilty to 43 counts of Possession of Child Pornography in the Russell County Circuit Court.  Cantrell was remanded to jail pending his sentencing hearing, which was held on December 17, 2015, and he was sentenced to 50 years in prison, with 40 years suspended, and indefinite probation upon his release.

Lebanon Man Convicted and Sentenced on 10 Counts of Forcible Sodomy for Molesting a Child

Lebanon, VA — On May 19, 2016, George William Harris, a 24 year-old man from Lebanon, Virginia, pled guilty to 10 counts of Forcible Sodomy in the Russell County Circuit Court.  Harris was sentenced to 5 life sentences, to be followed by 400 years in prison, with 200 years suspended, and indefinite probation upon his release.

Cleveland Man Convicted and Sentenced to 13 years for Manufacturing Methamphetamine and Possessing Firearm

Lebanon, VA — On June 9, 2016, Gregory Scott Crabtree, a 53 year-old man from Cleveland, Virginia, pled guilty to two counts of Manufacturing Methamphetamine,  one count of Possession of Firearm while Possessing a Schedule II Controlled Substance, and  one count of Possession of Precursor Chemicals.  Crabtree was sentenced to a total of 60 years, with 47 years suspended, and indefinite probation upon his release, leaving him 13 years to serve in the penitentiary.

East Stone Gap Man Convicted of Possessing Explosive Materials

Wise, VA – On Friday, April 17, 2015, after a two day trial, a Wise County jury convicted Jimmy Scott Elkins of possessing materials that can be used to make fire bombs or explosive devices with the intent to manufacture fire bombs or explosive devices. Elkins is a 43 year old man who lives in East Stone Gap, Virginia. The jury recommended a sentence of 12 months in jail and a $1,000.00 fine. The formal sentencing date is set for July 15, 2015. Elkins was remanded to the Duffield Regional Jail to serve his sentence.
