Lebanon, VA — On February 15, 2019, Donald Ray Clark, a 56 year-old man from Lebanon, Virginia, was charged by warrant for 1st Degree Murder.
The charge against Donald Ray Clark stems from a December 2018 incident in which William Trigg Tignor’s life was taken as a result of a gunshot wound. The incident occurred in Lebanon, Virginia.
An extensive ongoing investigation continues to be conducted by the Russell County Sheriff’s Office. The Russell County Sheriff’s Office has been conducting the investigation with the assistance of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives; the Lebanon Police Department; the Wise County Sheriff’s Office; and the Virginia State Police.
Commonwealth’s Attorney Zack Stoots stated, “This is a horrific event that should have never occurred.” Stoots also indicated that other details would be provided when the investigation is concluded.
Donald Ray Clark currently has pending criminal charges in the Russell County General District Court for Possession of a Firearm by a Violent Convicted Felon, Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon, Discharge a Firearm in an Occupied Dwelling, Reckless Handling of a Firearm, and Obstruction of Justice. These charges also stem from the December 2018 incident.
The accused is currently held in the Abingdon Regional Jail without bond.
